Music has been found to be a means of re-awakening for People Living with Alzheimer’s/Dementia (PLA/D). It is also a Neurobic exercise, awakening neural pathways in both auditory and emotional areas of the brain. Many times, because of the rhythm associated with music, PLA/D remember the words and sing along. In order to have the most effective use of music, we recommend use of stereo headsets. Many times just “playing music”, even though once meaningful may not get the same results as listening with headsets.
